Walgreens/CVS Caremark Update: Contract Dispute is Settled

Last week we shared with you the news that CVS Caremark, our retail pharmacy network, had announced its intention to terminate its contract with Walgreens effective July 9. Today Caremark announced that it has reached an agreement with Walgreens. As a result, Walgreens retail pharmacies will continue to be part of the Caremark network with no interruption in service for PacificSource members. For more information, read Caremark’s announcement.

We were preparing member notifications on the pending termination of Walgreens but had not yet issued those notices. We are sending this update to our group clients today.
