Internships at PacificSource
Are you looking for an opportunity to apply the skills that you're learning in your college courses? Working at a health insurance company may not be something you've considered, but we think it is time you do. and here’s why!
PacificSource Health Plans isn’t your typical health insurance company.
We are a not-for-profit company with the mission to help people get the healthcare they need. We are committed to providing exceptional customer service, so you won’t hear an automated phone attendant when you call. Instead, real people answer our phones.
We also have a strong commitment to improving the communities we serve. This is demonstrated in countless ways:
- We work cooperatively with other organizations to find ways to provide quality care at affordable prices
- Our employees raised more than $100,000 to support the United Way in each of our communities
- We created and maintain a Community Garden that, in the last two years, has provided approximately two tons of organic vegetables to a local food pantry that helps families and individuals facing hunger.
“This has been a very rewarding experience, and I have really appreciated how welcoming and helpful everyone at PacificSource has been. It has given me a completely different perspective on healthcare, and on PacificSource specifically, and has made me respect the company that much more.” – 2011 intern
Internships Lead to Careers
Education is the first step to a great career. We want to provide an opportunity for you to gain real-world experience that will allow you to both apply what you've been learning in the classroom and prepare for your future. Through an internship you will gain valuable work experience, participate in meaningful projects, and further develop your skills. Additionally, summer interns have the opportunity to meet regularly with our senior leaders through interactive lunch sessions where you'll gain insight into our business, culture, operations, and strategic plan.
“Business classes I'm required to take outside my area of focus are highly conceptual, without much detail. The lunch sessions brought the concepts I learned from very broad, bird's eye view at 30,000 feet to actual work that supports the organization. That experience can't really be taught in the classroom.” – 2011 intern
