Health education reimbursement

$150 reimbursement per plan year
for health and wellness classes.

Available to eligible and enrolled PacificSource members covering a wide range of health and wellness topics.

Health education reimbursement

Reimbursement may include:

  • Classes taught by a licensed or certified instructor
  • Classes that promote health and well-being, enhance quality of life, and recognize individual desires to remain active, productive, and independent
  • Any class that is offered by a hospital, including online courses
  • Health education, wellness, or activity classes that do not require a membership to attend

Topic examples:
  • First aid/CPR
  • Nutrition when connected with a chronic condition
  • Prenatal classes
  • Childbirth and parenting education, including babysitter first aid/CPR (member only), sibling class, “Caring for your new brother or sister” class
  • Cardiology services education (includes CPR and first aid)
  • Condition management (diabetes, cancer, arthritis, asthma, and more)
  • General health and wellness

Reimbursement excludes:

  • Punch card for drop-in gym time
  • Classes that require membership to a gym, health club facility, or parks and recreation center
  • Gym membership fees or health-center membership fees (for example, YMCA, recreation center membership, Curves, Gold’s Gym, 24 Hour Fitness)
  • Advance payment for a class (reimbursement for classes purchased in advance will not be paid until the month the class is offered)
  • Sports league fees, sports fees
  • Employer-required training courses
  • Employer reimbursement
  • Online classes (except online classes offered by a hospital)

  • Entry fees, consultations, weight loss plans

  • Clinical appointments with a dietitian

  • Instructor certifications

  • One-on-one education classes

How do I request reimbursement?

After you've taken a class, just complete and mail in our reimbursement request form. The reimbursement will be paid directly to you.
