According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 59 million people live with a mental illness, and it’s estimated that only half receive treatment. To mark Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to make sure you have the tools to care for your patients (and yourself).
If you’re looking for trusted resources, here are some that are easy to share:
- The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has national and regional chapters for kids and teens, families and caregivers, and frontline workers (including healthcare professionals)
- Find a Helpline has a collection of national helplines with options for veterans, youth, new parents, and seniors who need someone to talk to (or text with)
- Loneliness lines and resources for seniors are available in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and nationwide
PacificSource also has free, on-demand trainings for providers looking to enhance their skills around engaging patients in whole-person care—many with continuing education credit available. Check out Absorb, our online learning platform for providers.
