Michael Becker Joins PacificSource Health Plans as Vice President of Government Relations
(SPRINGFIELD, Ore.) Nov. 10, 2017—PacificSource Health Plans has recently hired healthcare industry veteran Michael Becker as the insurer’s new Vice President of Government Relations. In his role, Becker will lead PacificSource’s public policy, government affairs, and advocacy activities in all of the organization’s markets. He will also work to cultivate and maintain relationships with policymakers at the federal level.
Becker brings more than 20 years of health plan and health system leadership experience to this role, as well as a deep working knowledge of state and federal lobbying, legislative and regulatory policymaking, and political processes. He most recently served as Associate Vice President of state government affairs for Providence St. Joseph Health, and prior to that was Vice President/Senior Director public policy and community affairs for Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon. He also served as Vice President and General Counsel/Senior Director of provider relations for BlueCross BlueShield of Montana.

Becker earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, and his law degree from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. Outside of work, he enjoys biking and hiking.
