PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement Launches New Healthcare Access Partners Program
$190k in Grant Support Provided to Regional Nonprofits through the new program
(Springfield, Ore.) Dec. 21, 2017— The PacificSource Foundation for Health Improvement recently committed $190k in grant support to six nonprofit organizations based in Oregon and Idaho. The grant funding is part of the Foundation’s new Healthcare Access Partners program and fund the program’s cohorts for up to five years. The Foundation, founded in 1992, awarded $566k to 20 regional nonprofits in 2017.
The goal of the Healthcare Access Partners program is to foster financial stability and predictability for Partner clinics and assist in their ability to provide reliable and quality healthcare services to the vulnerable or underserved.
“The Healthcare Access Partners program differs from a typical grant in that it is a mutually beneficial partnership that offers predictable funding for select community-supported healthcare safety net providers,” said Marian Blankenship, executive director of PacificSource’s Foundation for Health Improvement. “The partnership will assist the Foundation in achieving its goals of improving community health and eliminating health disparities.”
The following cohort partners will receive grant funding:
- Canyon County Community Clinic: Treasure Valley, Idaho- Providing physical, behavioral and substance abuse services. $25,000 per year for five years.
- Center for Community Counseling: Eugene/Springfield, Oregon- Providing behavioral and mental health services. $35,000 per year for five years.
- Medical Teams International: Oregon- Focus on rural communities, providing oral health services. $25,000 per year for five years.
- Snake River Community Clinic: Northern Idaho- Providing physical, mental/behavioral and oral health services. $25,000 per year for five years.
- Volunteers in Medicine of the Cascades: Central Oregon- Providing physical, mental/behavioral, and oral health services. $40,000 per year for five years.
- Volunteers in Medicine: Eugene/Springfield, Oregon- Providing physical and mental/behavioral health services. $40,000 per year for five years.
Additionally, the Foundation will sponsor peer-to-peer and technical assistance opportunities among Partner clinics, allowing them to network, problem-solve, and support one another around the shared volunteer workforce model and the critical services they provide.
