PacificSource Health Plans and Reach Air Medical Services to Offer In-Network Coverage of Air Ambulance Services

(Helena, MT.) June 8, 2017—PacificSource Health Plans and REACH Air Medical Services have signed an agreement to provide REACH’s air ambulance services in-network for PacificSource members in Montana. With the addition of REACH, PacificSource now offers its members 100% access to air ambulance providers in Montana and is the first insurer in state to do so.

“We are very pleased that REACH and PacificSource have come together and reached an agreement to do what’s right for Montanans,” said Todd Lovshin, PacificSource vice president and Montana regional director. “It’s important that in times of crisis, our members can now focus on their wellbeing and not have to worry about which emergency provider is in network.”

“REACH is here to serve our communities and finding solutions through healthcare partners such as PacificSource is one way we can do this,” said Sean Russell, president of REACH and an employee of 26 years who worked his way up through the ranks. “The last thing a person wants to worry about while they are ill or injured is their coverage. PacificSource’s dedication to working with us to help their communities should be applauded by their members, their communities, and the Montana legislature.”

REACH currently maintains dozens of medically equipped helicopters, airplanes and ground ambulances spanning seven states including Montana and Wyoming. REACH currently has nearly 50 bases of operation including Helena and Bozeman. During the organization’s 30 years of operation more than 100,000 patients have received essential emergency care as a result of their transport availability. In addition to critically ill and injured adult patients, REACH’s teams are prepared to care for and transport high-risk obstetric, neonatal and pediatric patients.

REACH’s clinical staff consists of transport nurses and transport paramedics. All REACH clinicians hold a number of certifications including mandatory national advanced critical care certification within one year of hire.
