PacificSource Health Plans Announces 2018-2019 Community Health Excellence Program Funding Recipients

(SPRINGFIELD, Ore.) Oct. 26, 2018— PacificSource Health Plans has announced the 20 healthcare organizations that will receive a combined total of $739,000 in funding as part of its ongoing Community Health Excellence (CHE) program for the 2018-2019 session. Launched in 2009, CHE is a collaborative community health improvement program that makes financial contributions and other resources available to the healthcare initiatives of providers in Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and Montana.

Through the CHE program, funding is made available to the selected providers for expenses related to training, improved patient care processes, staff salaries, data collection, and computer software integral to the selected quality improvement initiative. The supported initiatives are independently evaluated as having a significant positive impact for their patients, regardless of their insurance status.

The 2018-2019 CHE program participants include: St. James Healthcare Foundation, Good Samaritan Foundation, Health West, Inc., Partnership Health Center, Asante Foundation, Children’s Health Foundation, Beartooth Billings Clinic Foundation, St. Luke’s Health Partners, Mosaic Medical, St. Luke Community Healthcare Foundation, North Bend Medical Center, Roundup Memorial Healthcare, Terry Reilly Health Services, Bay Clinic LLP, Primary Health Medical Group, Praxis Medical Group, Mid-Columbia Center for Living.

Additional CHE grants were provided through the contribution of Pacific Health Associates, a tax exempt organization that works in conjunction with PacificSource. Those grant recipients are Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Community Medical Center in Missoula, Mont. and Lewis and Clark Public Health in Helena, Mont.
To be considered for the CHE program, providers must complete an application including a detailed budget. Initial review and scoring of all applications is conducted by an independent panel of physicians with expertise and interest in community health.
