Our Free Prenatal Program

The goal of our Prenatal Program is to provide you and your family with information about pregnancy and childbirth to help you care for your baby, even before birth. The Prenatal Program provides access to the latest health information regarding pregnancy and childbirth. The program is unique in that it takes an active role to support, educate, nurture, and prepare participants for what to expect during pregnancy and in the weeks that follow.

Who's eligible for the Prenatal Program?

All members with medical coverage under a PacificSource group or individual health plan are eligible for the program at no additional cost. The program is completely confidential and participation is voluntary.

How do expectant mothers register?

Registration for the program is easy—just call the Prenatal Program toll-free at (888) 987-5805 or complete our online registration form. After you register, a Prenatal Nurse will contact you to complete your enrollment.

Once you are enrolled, a Prenatal Nurse will contact you again at 28 weeks and after delivery to see how you and the baby are doing. During these calls, our nurse provides support, answers questions, and serves as a resource for families.

In addition, participation materials will be sent directly to your home.

We encourage you to sign up for the program early in your pregnancy in order to maximize support and improve access to overall family health and well-being.

How does the program work?

A prenatal package is mailed to everyone who enrolls in the program. The kit includes:

  • Books on pregnancy and baby's first year, as well as a book for partners of pregnant women
  • Educational materials to help you take the best possible care of yourself during this important time
  • Contact information to reach a Prenatal Program nurse

Throughout your pregnancy, a nurse is available to answer any questions from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. Once the baby is born, you'll receive an additional package containing helpful parenting information.
